Knowledge of Bengali will be tested for candidates whose mother tongue is other than Bengali/ Nepali at the time of Personality Test. Candidature of the candidates with
average and/poor performance in the said knowledge of Bengali Test shall liable to be cancelled.

Scheme of Examination:

A. Written Examination: The examination comprises a single paper covering two main areas:

General Studies
Arithmetic

Total Marks: 100 (50 marks for each section). Duration: 1½ hours. The examination format includes multiple-choice objective type questions.

B. Personality Test: Additional Evaluation: 20 marks A limited number of candidates, selected based on their merit in the written examination, will proceed to the personality test. The final merit list combines marks from the written examination and the personality test. The Commission retains the discretion to set qualifying marks for both the written examination and the personality test, as well as for the overall aggregate.

Syllabus of the Written Examination:

General Studies: Covers topics related to common experiences, everyday science, current events, and issues, with a specific focus on India. Also, elementary knowledge of Indian History and Geography is included.
Arithmetic: Questions in this section are based on the syllabus of the Madhyamik Examination of the W.B.B.S.E., and they may involve testing mental abilities.
Assessment and evaluation of answer scripts by the Commission are considered final.
